If you have a Ninja Creami machine, chances are you’ve discovered how versatile it is.

You can make sorbets, ice creams, frozen yogurt, high-protein treats, and more!

Not only that, but you can often make homemade ice cream with ingredients that might not work as well in a traditional ice cream maker.

One of my favorite discoveries is the ability to make Ninja Creami recipes with pudding mix!

Using Pudding Mix in Ninja Creami Ice Cream Recipes

Adding pudding mix to the ice cream base serves multiple purposes.

First, it adds flavor to your ice cream!

Whether you’re making chocolate, vanilla, cheesecake, lemon, or butterscotch ice cream, this is an easy way to create different varieties.

Second, the instant pudding mix acts as a stabilizer in the ice cream.

This means you don’t need to add cream cheese to the base, like you do with many other recipes.

It’s a great dairy-free alternative for people who want to make dairy-free ice creams in the Ninja Creami.

And of course, the pudding mix also brings sweetness to the base!

In most cases, I don’t add any sugar beyond what’s already in the pudding mix.

One other fantastic benefit is that pudding mix is inexpensive to buy, and you can often make more than one pint of ice cream from one small box of pudding mix.

So you can stock up your pantry with mixes that you can use whenever you need to satisfy your sweet tooth!

It’s perfect for a special occasion, but easy enough for any day of the week!

How Do You Use Pudding Mix to Make Ice Cream in the Ninja Creami?

The base recipe I use for most Ninja Creami pudding mix recipes involves pudding mix, milk, and heavy cream.

You may want to add vanilla extract, vanilla bean paste, or other flavor extract, depending on the flavor you’re going for.

To start, I always dissolve the pudding mix in some milk by whisking them together.

Once the powder has dissolved, I add the heavy cream and any other ingredients I’m using.

Then freeze your ice cream base as usual!

Which Button Should I Use on the Ice Cream Machine for Pudding Mix Ice Cream?

Because I’m using both sugar and fat in my recipes, I use the regular Ice Cream button when processing the pints of ice cream.

If you’re using sugar-free pudding mix OR cutting back on the fat content, I’d suggest using the Lite Ice Cream button.

Can You Add Mix-ins to Pudding Ice Cream?

Yes, you can certainly add mix-ins if you’d like!

To do so, create a well in the middle of the ice cream that’s about 1/2-inch wide and extends down to the bottom of the pint.

Add your mix-in pieces to the well, insert the pint back into the Ninja Creami ice cream maker, and use the Mix-in button to incorporate.

What if My Ice Cream is Crumbly?

Sometimes ice cream will be a little crumbly after spinning the frozen base for the first time in the machine.

No worries–it’s an easy fix!

You can insert the pint back into the machine and use the Re-spin function to spin it again. Sometimes that’s enough to fix it!

If it’s still crumbly, I like to add a tablespoon of milk to the base and Re-spin it again. That should take care of it, giving you perfectly creamy ice cream!
