Not sure if boat is still available. Check Louisville, Kentucky Craigslist or Corydon, Indiana Craigslist. Last edited by Basscatdreams on June 18th, 2014, 1:49 am, edited 9 times in total.

I posted this in flys thread, and Ill copy it here. This is my advice. Just my 2 cents. You dont have to have a $30,000 bass boat to take people fishing brother. Start small, and work your way up. My first boat, was a 1960s model 14 aluminum Monark. A VHull john boat, with a trolling motor that was about as old. I had $500 in the whole deal: boat, trailer, TM, and battery. Didnt even have an outboard. It it took people fishing, and caught fish.If you can afford to send someone $225 a month, then put that money in a savings account each month and dont touch it. Once youve got a couple thousand in it, start looking for something in that range. There are PLENTY of affordable, boats on the market that will catch a fish just as good for $5000 as Flys $30,000 Sabre. Granted its not as flashy but… Flash doesnt catch fish only fishermen. Then you can rest easy knowing your boat is paid in full in cash, and youll have that extra money each month to spend on gas, snacks, equipment, and all the other costs that go along with fishing and taking others fishing.I bought my first real boat last year. Its 10 years old. Still looks and runs like new. Got a good deal on it. Sold my 4 wheeler so I could pay for the boat. Truck is also paid for, praise God! Thats the only reason I could afford to buy the boat. So as long as He keeps my old truck running good, Im good. LolAnyway, its not that no one wants to help you out, but we cant all afford a $30,000 boat for ourselves, let alone put up the bank for someone else.Ask God to grant you what you need to take these men fishing, and witness to them. And Im sure He will oblige. Just remember need, and want, are two totally different things. And who knows, maybe one day you can upgrade to a newer BCB. Even if its a 10yr old model. I assure you, the quality is there.I know its not as much fun, but Im sure the vets would enjoy a day of pier fishing just as much. Start small… Work youre way up.Thats my advice.Last edited by polaris425 on June 2nd, 2014, 9:17 pm, edited 3 times in total.13 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods

Yeay, I appreciate it. I also replied in Fly s thread but I am on my phone so I am not going to try to figure out how to copy it. I do appreciate your thoughts but when you read my response under the other post, you will see I did start very small a long time ago when I was healthy and could do work myself. Now I am disabled physically and mentally so I can no longer perform the required maintenance that an old boat requires. Again, any boat can have issues, but the newer ones, 2006 and up are less likely to break down. And when I am on the water with 2 other disabled warriors, the last thing I need is them, and I, dealing with the anxiety of a breakdown. Thanks

Also, I forgot to mention, as those of you that saw me at KABCOT, I am really fat, at 350. I should be 250 so I am 100 pounds overweight. I also walk with a cane most times and am no longer the most balanced person when walking. So a really small boat is out of the question as I would not be able to move around well. I need a steady platform. Add 1 or 2 more people with disabilities and it better be a really stable boat. On some of those older smaller boats, the back deck is small as is the front deck so the disabled person in the back could have issues if the platform is too small and the front platform will not allow for 2 people, especially considering my size.

Good luck with the boat purchase. I am having a hard enough time finding a Bass Cat in my area to look at.

Missouri…not that they are not around, just can not find any at the dealership as they sell out as fast as the get them. In a Skeeter now, and thinking about making the switch to a Bass Cat, but not going to buy one just by looking at pictures on the Bass Cat site lol

There is a 2000 Pantera classic with a 200 merc efi on Fayetteville Arkansas craigslist for $10,500. Looks like a pretty nice ride. Theres also a 2000 Cougar with a 2008 evinrude 225 for $8,000. It does have a bad lower unit. So there 2 that I seen and happened to think of you Basscatdreams. Hope it helps
